Graduation

Application for Degree

At Berkeley, degrees are awarded two times per year: May and December. Candidates for any UC Berkeley degree or certificate must file an “Application for Candidacy for the Master’s Degree” with the UC Berkeley Graduate Division office, which the Program Office will submit on the student’s behalf. Applications received after the deadline will be automatically applied to the next conferral date. Diplomas are automatically mailed to students and require that students ensure their mailing address is correct in Bearfacts upon graduation.

Recognition Ceremony

A recognition ceremony for MBA for Executives Program will take place at the University of California, Berkeley in February. Students may also participate in the larger University Commencement exercises held at Berkeley in May.

Graduation Awards

The following awards are presented at the recognition ceremony:

  • The Earl F. Cheit Award for Teaching Excellence is an award presented to the faculty member who displays teaching excellence during the Program. A student panel nominates faculty for this award.
  • The Berkeley Distinguished Service Award is presented to a student, selected by the members of the class, as deserving special recognition for contributions to the spirit and achievement of the class.
  • The Berkeley MBA for Executives Program Student Speakers are selected by fellow classmates to represent the graduating class at the Recognition Ceremony. Student speakers should be chosen based on contributions to the Program.
