Grad PLUS Loan Eligibility Requirements
Federal Loans:
To be eligible for a Direct Grad PLUS Loan, a student must meet the general Federal Loan eligibility requirements, as well as file a FAFSA and apply for her/his maximum loan eligibility in Direct Subsidized/Unsubsidized Loans. In addition, the student must pass a basic credit check to ensure that there is no "adverse credit" on her/his credit report.

Adverse credit is defined as:

 

• No accounts currently 90 days past-due
• No bankruptcy filings within the past five years
• No tax liens within the past five years
• No defaults on educational loans
