VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland is a contract research organisation involved in many international assignments. With its 3000 employees, VTT provides a wide range of technology and applied research services for its clients, private companies, institutions and the public sector. VTT is again engaging IBD teams this year.
Nokia is the world leader in mobility, driving the transformation and growth of the converging Internet and communications industries.
Cisco enables people to make powerful connections-whether in business, education,
philanthropy, or creativity. Cisco hardware, software, and service offerings are
used to create the Internet solutions that make networks possible-providing easy
access to information anywhere, at any time.
Tekes, the National Technology Agency is the main public financing and expert organisation for research and technological development in Finland. Tekes finances industrial R&D projects as well as projects in research institutes. Tekes especially promotes innovative, risk-intensive projects.
Atonus has been developing computer based information systems for hospitals
and image analysis applications both on the biomedical field (semen, chromosome,
skin lesion) and industrial field (automobile control panel calibration).
The Wildlife Conservation Society saves wildlife and wild lands through careful science, international conservation, education, and the management of the world's largest system of urban wildlife parks. For the second year WCS has engaged a number of Haas IBD consulting teams.
Comaco is a model for rural development that supports natural resource management. It operates through a community-owned trading centre, registered as a non-profit company, called the Conservation Farmer Wildlife Producer Trading Centre.
This program offers an exceptional learning
opportunity to mid-career professionals and policy makers
to gain expertise, enhance their skills and broaden their
perspectives on sustainable environmental management.
For the third year, graduates of the BELP are engaging IBD
teams through the Beahrs Small Grants Initiative. This year
we will be working in Egypt . Previous years saw teams in Nepal, Kalimantan,
Indonesia, Cameroon and the Republic of South Africa.
e-Ha was established in 2005 in Shanghai, the hub of China's hospitality industry. They are a Wireless Value Added Service (WVAS) focused on the hospitality and entertainment industries.
Sam Veasna Center for Wildlife Conservation (SVC) was created as a memorial to Sam Veasna, former head of the Siem Reap provincial wildlife office, and a key player in promoting conservation initiatives in Cambodia. The SVC opened in January 2003, and in collaboration with partners such as
Wildlife Conservation Society - Cambodia Program and local communities in
birding destinations, has been developing activities to promote wildlife
conservation.
