Clausen Center for International Business and Policy

International Business Development Program

Venturing into new territories can be tough. You leave behind the familiar and are faced with a world of unknowns. Languages, cultures, government regulations, accounting practices, business environment - so many things can differ from your current market that you could easily begin to wonder why you left home. A knowledgeable guide or a savvy advisor could make a world of difference.

Even if you've already expanded into new markets there is always more research that needs to be done. But, if your company is like most, your resources are already stretched. You just don't have the time or the qualified personnel to handle that market study or business plan or evaluate that new idea. Perhaps you've been meaning to hire someone to do those special projects but haven't yet found the right person.

You could ask a consulting firm to help, or you could take advantage of an outstanding program at the Walter A. Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley.
