The Clausen Center and Acteva, the online solutions provider for event organizers, have joined forces to assist Sewalanka Foundation in its efforts to rebuild Sri Lanka in the wake of the Tsunami disaster.
Sewalanka, was established in 1993 as a development NGO with a mandate to address the needs of the most vulnerable communities in the most neglected and disadvantaged regions of Sri Lanka.
Sewalanka is a client of the International Business Development Program at Haas.
Anne Marie Edwards, Haas MBA student and participant in the IBD program in 2004 went to Sri Lanka, immediately after the Tsunami, to assist Sewalanka. Her experiences and the vivid descriptions of the need for assistance were instrumental in mobilizing the Clausen Center and Acteva to create this alliance with Sewalanka.
Sebastian Teunissen, Executive Director of the Clausen Center, has agreed to join the Board of Sewalanka USA Foundation.
Please consider donating to Sewalanka's relief efforts. All donations will go directly to the foundation. Acteva is donating all fees, it would normally charge for the use of its services, to the relief effort. None of the donated funds will be used for IBD - the team is already funded through the World Bank.
