Travel Safety Guidelines
Before travelling abroad, a number of important preparations are necessary in the event an emergency arises. Below is a checklist to help outline some of the considerations to protect your health and safety on IBD projects as well as other work you may be pursuing relative to Seminars in International Business, etc.
- Preparation
In the earliest stages of planning your trip, we make the following recommendations:
- Check with the embassy (or consulate) of the country(s) you will be visiting to obtain latest visa requirements and other information for visitors.
- Check for travel warnings and advisories issued by the U.S. State Department or by calling (202) 647-5525.
- Check for health concerns, vaccination requirements, etc., at the Centers for Disease Control or by calling the CDC Travelers' Hotline at (888) 232-3228.
- Check your medical insurance to ensure that you have sufficient coverage for the countries to which you are traveling.
- Research the country(s) you are visiting. Some suggested web sites are listed below.
- Provide someone, who is not traveling with you, contact information, and copies of your passport, tickets, etc.
- Prepare a list of key contacts you might need to reach in the event of an emergency.
- Obtain duplicate copies of any prescriptions or other documents you may need.
