Susanne Stormer

Susanne Stormer is a foremost global authority in corporate sustainability and serves as VP, Corporate Sustainability and Chief Sustainability Officer for the Danish pharmaceutical company Novo Nordisk, a globally recognized sustainability leader. Susanne sets strategic direction for the Novo Nordisk as a sustainability leader and pioneer in demonstrating long-term business value of incorporating economic, social and environmental perspectives into its market proposition. She and her team manage sustainability-driven programs, the company’s Annual Report, engagements with ESG investors and stakeholders in the professional sustainability community, and communicate the value of the company’s Triple Bottom Line business principle.

Among her achievements are the successful integration of the company’s financial and sustainability reporting that has brought Novo Nordisk at the cutting edge of integrated reporting. In this capacity she was invited to join the Working Group of the International Integrated Reporting Council that has developed a new framework for integrated reporting. She has also been part of an Expert Group advising the European Commission on its legislative initiatives in this direction and has taken part in the development of SASB’s Health Sector Guidelines. Susanne represents Novo Nordisk to the UN Global Compact and the Global Business Initiative on Human Rights. In 2013 she was appointed adjunct professor at the Copenhagen Business School, in recognition of her leadership and contribution to the field of corporate sustainability. In 2016 she joined the Board of the Access to Nutrition Index. Susanne was nominated by the Center for Responsible Business.
