  Code of Conduct
At the Haas School, it is our goal to prepare you to be a skilled, innovative and ethical business leader. Part of that preparation is found in the standards of conduct we expect of all students.

  Code of Conduct

Please review the campus-wide standard for student conduct at: http://students.berkeley.edu/uga/conduct.asp. We expect you to maintain high standards of integrity in your academic work and conduct in the program.

In particular, please note:
• All work you turn in to an instructor must be undertaken by you and you alone. Joint work is permitted only when the conditions for that joint work have been clearly established between the students and the instructor.
• All work will be the product of new research undertaken by students for the purpose of the designated course. Any exceptions to this rule must be the result of a prior agreement between student and instructor.

All examination materials that you turn in must be your work alone. An instructor has the right to give an “F” on a single assignment produced by cheating regardless of whether the cheater has minimal knowledge of the relevant factual material. An instructor has the right to assign a final grade of “F” for a course for any plagiarized work turned in by a student. A student who allows another student to copy a paper or answers to an examination question is equally guilty.

If you have questions about the code of conduct or want to file a complaint, please contact the MBA Program Director.

  Appeal Procedure

If you believe that you have not received a fair grade in a course, discuss the grade with the instructor first. If this step fails to resolve the disagreement, you may appeal the grade to the MBA Program Director with a written explanation how you have attempted to reconcile the discrepancy. Your appeal will be forwarded to the Associate Dean for Instruction, who will appoint a faculty member to resolve the disagreement. If you are not satisfied with this decision, your final appeal is to the campus ombudsperson.

A student recommended for dismissal from the MBA program has the right to appeal the recommendation to the Associate Dean for Instruction, who will appoint a faculty member who is mutually acceptable to both parties to resolve the issue. If this attempt fails, a formal appeal may be presented to the Dean of the Graduate Division.
