Faculty evaluations are taken seriously by both students and faculty at Haas.
We use a seven-point scale to evaluate an instructor’s effectiveness and the overall value of the course. Faculty who receive a trimmed mean score of six or higher are honored as members of “Club 6.”
Visitors and lecturers who score below four generally are not rehired.
You may view faculty evaluations and student to student comments for the classes you are considering when you are logged in from the berkeley.edu domain. This link will not work when you are logged in remotely.
Each year, we honor our best teachers with the Cheit Award for Teaching Excellence. In April, every full-time MBA student is asked to nominate an outstanding faculty member. A student committee decides who will receive the honor. The recipient is announced at the end-of-year party, usually on the last day of classes in May.
