Your studies at Haas will culminate at commencement. But before you receive your hard-earned diploma, you must apply for candidacy. See below for details on that process and how to request your diploma.

Application for Candidacy
|

Before your degree can be conferred, the University’s Graduate Division requires that you be formally "advanced to candidacy." You must apply for candidacy around the middle of the semester that you plan to graduate. The MBA Program Office will send you information and forms.
When you apply for candidacy, you should make sure that your official record is accurate and cleared of all incompletes or other no-reports, and that you have met or are in the process of meeting all degree requirements. Any requirements that are not completed as of the last day of final exams in your final semester will prevent you from graduating that semester. If you complete any course work after the semester ends, your degree will be conferred the following semester.

Commencement

Degrees are conferred only in December and May. If you complete your degree requirements at the end of the Summer Session, you will be placed on the December degree list. Commencement ceremonies are held once a year for Haas undergraduate and graduate students. Ceremonies are traditionally held in the Greek Theatre on the weekend following final exams in the Spring semester. Information about the date, time, location and guest attendance will be provided early in the Spring in the Commencement section of this Web site.

Requests for Diploma

You will not receive your diploma at commencement. This is because it takes time to complete student records. You must request your diploma from the University, four to eight months after your graduation date.
