The Berkeley Graduate Division has final
jurisdiction over administrative and academic decisions that terminate or otherwise
impede a graduate student’s progress towards their degree goals.
Such matters include dismissal from the program, being placed on academic probation,
and being denied re-admission if the student was in good academic standing at the
time of withdrawal.
The Graduate Divison encourages students to first attempt to resolve their complaint at the
department level. See Haas School of Business Grievance / Appeal Procedure for
the Haas School’s grievance appeal procedure.
If a mutually satisfactory resolution can not be reached at the department level,
your next step is to begin the
Graduate Appeal Procedure.
