Application Process
The on-line application can be found at the Graduate Division website .
In addition to providing the documentation listed under Application Requirements, the on-line application asks for various kinds of information. Here is the list of questions:
1. Proposed Degree Program
Select Business Administration (Ph.D.). Once you save this, you will be able to select your field of study. You have the option of selecting two fields of study according to your priority.
2. Personal Information
3. Educational Background
4. Language Proficiency
5. Survey
6. Exam Scores
7. GPA
Please calculate your GPA score. Note: International students, other than those who received their degrees from US-based universities, are exempt from this.
8. Statements
This includes the Statement of Purpose and Personal Statement. Address all points suggested on the page and comment on the following:
- The aspects of the Ph.D. Program that especially encouraged you to apply.
- Any educational or employment experience that you believe has particularly prepared you to enter the program.
- Indicate research you have pursued either in academic programs or at a place of employment.
- Write briefly on which faculty you would like to work with and why.

You do not need to fill out the faculty you've contacted. However, fill out the second part listing the faculty whose research interests you.
12. Fellowship Application
The Ph.D. Program does not have a formal interview process. However, some faculty call for additional information and to learn more about your research interests.
Your on-line application is official only if you have received the "Submitted" confirmation email message from the Graduate Division. If you need help submitting the on-line application, contact gradapp@berkeley.edu.
Application fee: $70 for US citizens; $90 for all other applicants. The non-refundable fee may be paid by credit card if applying on-line or by US check or money order payable to UC Regents.
