Jim Alfaro graduated from the full time Haas MBA program in 2000 and also participated in the Haas/Columbia exchange program. He is currently a Director in the investment banking division of Sterling Financial Investment Group, a full-service investment bank based in Miami with offices in New York and San Francisco, focused on providing capital raising and advisory services for emerging growth companies primarily in the Healthcare and Technology industries.

Previous to Sterling, Mr. Alfaro worked for a number of years for both Chase Securities and JPMorgan (pre- and post-merger) in the corporate finance group in New York. Mr. Alfaro is a Robert Toigo Fellow and a member of American Capital Growths (ACG) southeast chapter.He attended the University of Texas at Austin where he received a BBA in Finance. He is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese.
