Concurrent Degrees
The Haas School offers four concurrent degree programs in areas of special interest to business professionals.
Earning a dual degree offers Haas graduates new levels of flexibility and proficiency for unique career opportunities
both in the United States and abroad.
JD/MBA Program: Four-year program in law and management. Candidates must apply separately and be accepted to both
the law and business schools.
MBA/MA Program in Asian Studies: Combines traditional MBA program with training in Asian politics, economics, geography,
arts, or anthropology.
MBA/MA Program in International and Area Studies: Gives Haas MBA Students the opportunity to focus on business matters in
China, Japan, Russia, Germany, Brazil, Middle East, Africa, Southeast Asia.
MBA/MPH Program in Health Services Management:
2.5 year program. Offers training in health services, technology management,
strategic planning, finance, economics, law. Applicants must be accepted by both the business and public health schools.
Certificate Programs
Haas MBA students have the option to earn certificates in one of five areas of study: corporate environmental
management, global management, entrepreneurship, management of technology, and health management. These
certificates are granted upon the completion of a designated number of courses and special projects. They
supplement the MBA degree and do not require a separate application.
Corporate Environmental Management: Special focus on corporate environmental strategy, environmental
science and management, environmental law and policy, risk management.
Entrepreneurship: How to identify an entrepreneurial opportunity, design the business, obtain financing
and manage the growth process. Students gain first-hand experience with a young company, observing how
entrepreneurs confront and solve problems.
Global Management: Combines overseas experience, courses with international content, language requirement.
Demonstrates proficiency and experience in the theory and application of global business and management principles.
Health Management: Courses in health services organization, strategic planning, and finance--designed to
prepare students to take business leadership roles in health services and health technology industries.
Management of Technology: Combines Haas School coursework with classes at UC Berkeley College of
Engineering to train students in critical technology management issues.
