Facilities at Haas

Connie & Kevin Chou Hall

Construction work continues on the new Connie & Kevin Chou Hall, an exciting addition to the Haas campus. This student-centered space was designed to enhance learning, foster community and allow us to provide a world-class education to current and future students. Designed with LEED and WELL standards, the project features environmentally conscious construction, 40% reduction in water use, and 38% improved energy efficiency. It includes 8 tiered classrooms, 4 flat classrooms, 27 group study rooms, a cafe, and a large event space on the 6th floor.

Schedule

As with all construction projects, schedules are changing. Our first priority is to get the classrooms completed and outfitted with state-of-the-art classroom technology. As actual building usage is contingent on obtaining Temporary Occupancy approval, our current plan is to obtain occupancy for classroom floors first, with the Sixth Floor Spieker Forum event space to follow.

  • May 12: Last day of service at Fifo Cafe
  • May 24 - late July/early August: "Cafe Bridge Service" (coffee, pastries & grab n go items)
  • July 12: Temporary Occupancy Floor 3 - first classes held in Chou Hall!
  • July and August: Trialing of select Summer Session classes
  • Mid-July - mid-August: Temporary Occupancy of Floors 1, 2, 4 and 5
  • Fall Semester 2017: Full classroom use
  • September: Temporary Occupancy of Spieker Forum (6th Floor)
  • Late Fall: Notice of Completion for building
