Ways to Give

Gifts of Stock

Gifts of stock should be directed to the UC Berkeley Foundation. If securities are in certificate form, you may deliver them personally or send them by certified or registered mail to the address and contact person below. It is best to mail unendorsed stock certificates and stock power forms in separate envelopes. If securities are not in certificate form, contact our Securities Coordinator to determine the best way to transfer shares.

Planned Gifts

A planned gift may enable your classmate to satisfy personal financial planning needs in addition to providing the University with important, long-term support. Some plans may provide income for life (or a term of years), an immediate income tax charitable deduction, avoidance of capital gains tax, and professional asset management (if the University serves as trustee). If a gift is made through a will, your classmate may obtain significant estate tax benefits.

If you would like more detailed information about any of the options listed below, please contact the Office of Planned Giving by calling (510) 642-6300.

Gifts by check or credit card

Checks should be made payable to “Haas Annual Fund”. They should clearly include the donor’s name and class year and should be mailed with the pledge card in the remit envelope provided. Donors may also use Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Diner’s Club by including their account number, expiration date, amount, and signature on the pledge card. Donors may also make credit card gifts online or over the phone--just give us a call.
