Brooks Mendell, MBA00, Georgia Chapter President

Brooks has been the HAN leader for Georgia since 2003. He has 12 years of research, operating, and consulting experience in forestry and the forest products industry. Prior to Haas, Brooks worked in forest operations for a major forest products company and conducted research on log export policy. Following Haas, he worked as a management consultant to the forest products industry and earned a Ph.D. in Forest Resources at the University of Georgia. As a Fulbright Scholar, Brooks is teaching a graduate course on applied finance and forestry in Uruguay during the summer of 2004.

Currently, Brooks is Principal of Forisk Consulting, LLC, which provides consultative services to small and medium sized forestry operations in the areas of risk management and new business development. For the 2004-2005 academic year, he will be a Visiting Assistant Professor of Forest Finance at the Warnell School of Forest Resources at The University of Georgia.

Brooks earned B.S. and M.S. degrees from MIT, an MBA from Haas, and a Ph.D. from the University of Georgia. He and his wife, Liz, make their home in Martinez, Georgia.
