What Will It Take to Make Renewable Energy Competitive?
Improvement in solar and wind generation technologies has accelerated in the last few years. Biofuels and storage technologies seem to be on the cusp of important breakthroughs. Yet, progress in replacing fossil fuels has been painfully slow. Professor Severin Borenstein will discuss the challenging hurdles that still exist for alternative energy sources and what public and private activities will be necessary to address the energy challenges we still face.

Kellie McElhaney, 10:30 - 11:30 am

The Lioness Factor: How Women Create Value for Businessmen
Professor McElhaney's talk will discuss her research which looks at women in all roles of business -- as students, employees, consumers, investors, managers, leaders and board members. McElhaney will explain that when businesswomen behave authentically female, and use their voices effectively, they can have profound and sustainable impact on the world, both inside and outside of business. McElhaney's research has been sponsored by companies like KPMG and widely disseminated, and has unleashed a provocative discussion on this topic.
