Class of 2011 Senior Gift

Well, with graduation looming and new jobs starting, it seems like the end of the world for many of us. The Senior Gift Campaign is all about joining our rightful place as Haas Alumni and leaving a legacy for future classes. Haas has given us all an opportunity of a lifetime - now it's our turn to give something back.

You can give online now, make a pledge and pay later, or visit us at our table in the Haas Courtyard.

Well, that answer is different for everyone. We have students who give $25 and some who give $10,000 - it's all about what you can do. Remember: it's the collective power of many gifts that make a big difference.

And guess what: every gift to Haas is matched 2:1! The New Alumni Challenge is matching all gifts on campus 1:1, but here at Haas we've got something extra. Dean Lyons, class of '82, and Brad Howard, class of '79, are putting up their own match to every gift made to Haas during the campaign.

You can designate your Senior Gift to many areas on campus, but Haas Senior Gift donors often choose to support the Haas Annual Fund because it supports the most immediate needs for the largest number of Haas students and faculty.

If you want to be sure that 100% of your money benefits fellow Haas undergrads, you can designate your gift to the Undergraduate Programs fund - a subset of the Haas Annual Fund.

Think of your favorite class, your favorite professor or even one of your closest friends at Haas. Any one of these might not have been here without financial support from thousands of our generous alumni. In fact, our entire Haas facility was built through donations! Even the buildings would not be here if alumni hadn't given back to Haas.

Every top business school has a strong tradition of alumni giving, and although Berkeley is a public institution, it has benefited from centuries of philanthropy. In many ways, donations have made our school as excellent as it is - and it's up to us to keep that tradition going.

The Haas Senior Gift Campaign is our way of becoming part of the tradition of giving back. Each gift from each student is a vote of confidence in our future, and together our gifts are a show of support to our teachers, Dean Lyons, and the alumni community we're about to join.

We all know that it's better to give than receive, but we all like to get a little something in return. Below are our thank-you gifts for all those who support the campaign!

$25: Limited edition executive water bottle with the Haas logo.

$100: Limited edition "Haas School of Business" license plate frame* in chrome and black. Also, an invitation to dinner with Dean Lyons, Brad Howard, and other prominent Haas alumni in May - an opportunity to meet local HAN chapter heads and network!
*to receive a license plate frame, your gift must be in by April 21

$250: Membership to the Haas Leadership Society, a network of core Haas supporters with invitations to exclusive events.

All donors will be recognized in the honor roll section of our commencement program, and in our Annual Report. (Note: The last day to submit names for the honor roll section is April 21.)

Members of the Haas Senior Gift Committee gain valuable professional experience in marketing, sales and leadership.

We can also earn points towards a special stole to wear at Commencement! (You earn one point for each pledge you bring in.)

The simplest way to explain our goal is that we want to be the best in Haas Senior Gift history. Previous years have set the bar high, and we want to exceed their expectations with ease.

Gifts of any size to any fund on campus will count towards our participation rate. You can even pledge now and pay by December 2011.*

*Gift payments must be received by June 30 to qualify for the New Alumni Challenge match.

This year, the UC Berkeley's Trustees are matching all gifts from seniors and new alumni 1:1. In addition, two prominent Haas alumni - Dean Lyons '82 and Brad Howard '79 - are pledging to match any gifts made to Haas through the Senior Gift Campaign.
