Gifts toward school-wide support sustain the core of the Haas School. Forty percent of all gifts in this category goes toward student scholarships, fellowships, and services. Twenty percent supports faculty research, recruitment, and retention. Twenty percent goes for alumni events, Haas@Cal online affinity groups for alumni, and alumni chapters. And 20 percent supports Dean Lyons' initiatives.
Each year, opportunities arise to advance the Haas School's unique business leadership model. By enabling Dean Lyons to say "yes" to the most promising among these opportunities, Haas Fund gifts are essential to keeping the Haas School innovative. In recent years, the Dean Lyons'initiatives have included drop-in career advising for undergraduates, a popular Etiquette Dinner that prepares undergraduates to shine in business meetings, and coaching and virtual interview tools that enable MBA alumni to advance in their careers. Dean Lyons'initiatives currently include the Berkeley Innovative Leader Development program — dedicated to preparing tomorrow's path-bending leaders — and key improvements to the Haas campus.
