Before retiring as Chief Financial Officer for Chevron in December 2008, Crowe played a pivotal role in the contested but successful acquisition of Unocal. Crowe joined Chevron, a 130-year-old energy company and the third-largest corporation in America, in 1972. He served in a variety of roles during his 36-year tenure, including Corporate Officer, Vice President, and Comptroller. Crowe is a native of the San Francisco Bay Area. He served two years of active duty in the US Navy, and earned a bachelor's degree in finance in 1969 and an MBA in 1970 from the Haas School of Business.
