Herrick is President of Continental Capital Corporation, one of the oldest venture capital firms. He founded a Japanese auto parts import firm on $100 in the 60's, which became the largest Japanese aftermarket specialty distributor in the USA. That experience led him to help develop a program to bring Berkeley professors to Japan to study competitiveness issues. He was involved in VC in China before it became fashionable. He is on the Board of Hitachi Automotive Co.
