Carl Shapiro

Obama Picks Shapiro for President's Council of Economic Advisers, and Tyson and Otellini for Jobs Council
President Obama announced his intent to nominate Haas Professor Carl Shapiro to the Council of Economic Advisers. He will also nominate Haas Professor and former Dean Laura Tyson and Haas alumnus Paul Otellini, MBA 74, CEO of Intel, to the President's new Council on Jobs and Competitiveness.

Masters of Financial Engineering Program Reaches Ten
Since becoming the first such program to be run at a business school, the Berkeley MFE Program has graduated 608 students. This month the program celebrates its ten-year anniversary with the graduation of its tenth class of students.

Shanghai Conference to Highlight Innovation, Mar. 22
Dean Lyons and Haas Prof. Teck Ho will join top thinkers from around the world, including Nobel Laureate and Haas Professor Emeritus Oliver Williamson, to discuss innovation in a wide range of industries, from biotech to finance, at the second annual Berkeley Asia Business Center Conference.

Haas Professor and former Dean Tom Campbell has been appointed Dean of the Chapman University School of Law in Orange, Calif., and has resigned from his faculty position at Berkeley-Haas.
