Special Message to Alumni from the Dean
"The horror at Virginia Tech touches all of us. I have communicated with Richard Sorensen, the Dean of the Pamplin School of Business that we will offer all assistance we can to the faculty, staff, and students at Pamplin to help them through this most difficult time. Our school similarly extended an offer to help when the Katrina disaster affected our colleagues at business schools in New Orleans.
"The vulnerability of all of us to a catastrophe of this kind is all too apparent; when such an event occurs, it draws on our compassion and renews our resolve to do all we can to prevent recurrences.
"Among our family at Haas, there may be some with close friends or relatives at Virginia Tech; to them we extend our deep sympathies. And I draw attention to the Chancellor's reminder of counseling and other kinds of assistance within our own community, as can be found on Cal's Tang Center Website."
Sincerely,
Tom
