A New Kind of 'Lean' May Save Lives

Can a wave of new startups commercialize life science ideas with lightning speed? Haas School Lecturer Steve Blank is leading a pilot I-Corp National Institutes of Health program that uses methods taught in his Lean LaunchPad course instead of traditional business plans. "We're going to create new companies that bring life-saving drugs, devices, and diagnostics to clinicians and patients faster and cheaper," Blank says.

The Full-time Berkeley MBA program ranked #5 among US schools and #7 globally in the The Economist's "Which MBA" ranking. The Economist also confirmed that jobs in financial services are now less popular with new MBA graduates than consulting and technology.

UC Berkeley is one of 10 schools across North America selected to offer Watson-focused courses. To build disruptive business models for global healthcare, undergrad students will use data from Apollo Group, the largest private integrated hospital group in Asia.
