The Evening & Weekend Berkeley MBA Program placed #2 in a Bloomberg Businessweek ranking of part-time MBA programs, up from #5 in the prior 2011 ranking.

Four Members of Haas Community Honored by Thinkers50 Global Ranking of Management Thinkers
Haas Adjunct Prof. Henry Chesbrough, PhD 97, and UC Berkeley School of Information Professor Morten Hansen made the 2013 Thinkers50 global ranking of management thinkers. Alumnus Ikujiro Nonaka, MBA 68, PhD 72, received the Thinkers50 2013 Lifetime Achievement Award this month, while Haas Lecturer Steve Blank was short-listed for a Thinkers50 Breakthrough Idea Award.

The first Berkeley Entrepreneurship Week organized by Startup@Berkeley, an interdisciplinary club, will bring nearly two dozen entrepreneurs and venture capitalists from such companies as Evernote and Sequoia Capital to campus to inspire students to pursue entrepreneurial careers.

Adopting corporate social responsibility shareholder resolutions leads to large increases in shareholder value and operating performance, according to the study that won the 2013 Moskowitz Prize for Socially Responsible Investing.

Accounting Prof. Emeritus John Wheeler Passes Away
Professor Emeritus John T. Wheeler, whose research in accounting education contributed to the development of management sciences and computer-based business games at UC Berkeley in the 1960s, died on Oct. 21.
