Koret Foundation Announces Challenge Match to Support Dean Lyons
- The Koret Foundation is a San Francisco institution that supports education, the Bay Area community, and entrepreneurial spirit – a natural partner with Haas.
- Koret recently pledged $1.5 million to construct a high-tech classroom at Haas (F-320). The classroom will have 76 tiered seats, with advanced presentation and online capacities. Construction will begin this summer.
- The Koret Foundation is impressed by Dean Lyons’ vision for Haas. They’ve pledged $200,000 to Dean Lyons’ discretionary fund this year, and they want Haas alumni to match their support.
- Of the total $200,000 Koret gift, $150,000 will match gifts from members of 2009 MBA Classes: ’84, ’89, ’94, ’99, ’04 and ’08. (The other $50,000 of the Koret gift will be used to match gifts from foundations and corporations.)
- Each class’ giving total as of Reunion Weekend (April 24-26) will be matched 1:1. These matching funds will be first-come, first-served until the money runs out, so the classes that make their gifts right away will come out on top!
- In this current economic climate, it is significant that Koret has stepped up to support Haas in such important ways. We are grateful to have the Koret Foundation as a loyal partner.
