Oliver Williamson Seminar

The BPP group meets weekly at this seminar, named in honor of our colleague and Nobel Laureate Oliver E. Williamson. The seminar typically covers topics in the economics of organizations, political economy, and development. This seminar is part of the course sequence in the BPP PhD program and is generously supported by the Institute of Business Innovation.

Political Economy Seminar

This seminar meets every other week to cover topics in political economy, bringing together faculty and students from various departments in campus, namely Haas, Economics, Political Science, Goldman-Public Policy, Agricultural and Resource Economics. It is supported by the Berkeley Center for Economics and Politics (BCEP).

Economic History

This seminar series is hosted in the Economics department and meets weekly to discuss economic history research.

Energy and Environmental Economics Seminar

This seminar is coordinated by Reed Walker, Severin Borenstein, and Meredith Fowlie and attracts students with interests in the areas of energy and the environment.

Student Seminars

These are seminars where students present their work and faculty offer feedback.

PERL—Political Economy

This seminar meets every other week, alternating with the Political Economy seminar. It is intended for advanced doctoral students to present work that is reasonably polished.

BPP Student Seminar

This seminar is part of the sequence for the BPP PhD program. Students from second year onward present their work regularly in this series.
