Abby Scott

Abby is the Executive Director of MBA Career Services. She joined Haas as the Director of Career Services in 2000 after spending ten years in the technology industry. She has worked in marketing, product management and sales positions for Intel, Electronic Arts, and Embark (Princeton Review). Abby holds a BA from UC Berkeley, where she majored in Political Economy of Industrial Societies and an MBA from the Kellogg School, where she focused on marketing and finance.

 

Abby leads a talented team of individuals who coach and connect MBA students with career resources, and she maintains a strong network of personal and professional contacts, particularly in the areas of technology, financial services and consumer products. Abby was honored with an outstanding staff award in 2002, and later the same year, she was a recipient of the UC Berkeley Excellence in Management award.




Lesah Beckhusen

Lesah has more than twenty years of deep and broad career counseling experience as an independent career consultant, trainer, product developer and small business owner. Lesah has been at the Haas School for over twelve years as a career advisor and program manager. She has developed and managed many programs including the Career Coaches and Super Saturday Interview Program and most recently the new Haas Virtual Interview Coaching Program. In 1987 Lesah launched SkillScan, a publishing business that develops and markets innovative skills assessment tools to universities and colleges, adult career centers, career counselors and corporations. SkillScan is used by thousands of college and universities throughout the U.S.

 

Lesah holds an MS degree in Counseling and a BA degree in Psychology from San Diego State University. She is a Certified Toastmaster and travels throughout the U.S. conducting trainings on SkillScan products and is a regular presenter at the International Career Development Conference.

Mark Friedfeld

With a background in law, marketing and admissions, Mark joined Haas in 2001 after working for the MBA program at the University of Maryland. Following judicial clerkships in Alaska and attorney positions in Washington, D.C., he entered the business world by joining the Princeton Review, where he taught students, trained instructors, designed courses and served in various corporate roles including Special Project Manager and Director of Marketing. As an MBA Career Advisor, Mark works with all students but has a particular focus in financial services.

 

Away from Haas, Mark is active with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team In Training triathlon program. He received a BS in economics and a BA in international relations from UC Davis and a JD from the American University's Washington College of Law.

Sheri Lockshin

Sheri’s focus is on career advising and career program development for international students and others interested in pursuing international careers. She is the CSO liaison to the European Business, Pac Rim, Latin America and Hispanic Business and Global Initiatives clubs. Sheri has spent the majority of her professional life in career services at Haas and other Bay Area organizations. She’s knowledgeable of the competitive requirements of most MBA career tracks and familiar with the many resources available to help students reach their career goals. Sheri is particularly adept with helping student with self-assessment.

 

Sheri regularly contributes to professional groups such as the Chazen/International MBA Career Conference, Going Global and the University of California International Business Consortium. She holds a masters degree in Spanish from San Francisco State University, has studied at universities in Mexico and Spain and completed graduate business coursework at Golden Gate University.

Lisa Feldman

Lisa is a 1995 MBA graduate of Berkeley. She has been determined to prove that with an MBA you can do anything you want. After putting her degree through its paces in high tech marketing, services strategy, and operations, she returned to Haas in 2002 as an industry Account Manager in the MBA Career Services Organization. In 2007 she was promoted to Director of Recruiting, overseeing the account team. Her responsibilities also include acting as Career Services’ primary liaison with the Haas School's Corporate and Foundation Relations team, and she is becoming the local expert on how to serve the millennial generation. Lisa received her undergraduate degree from Brown and also has an MA in Victorian Studies from the University of Toronto.

Rich Wong

After achieving his Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Haas, Rich worked in the field and obtained his California CPA license. He then earned his MBA in finance at UCLA, leading to a 17 year high-tech finance career at Advanced Micro Devices (AMD). Rich joined Haas in 1999 as one of the inaugural industry account managers where he utilizes his educational and professional experience to help students and companies in his sectors - technology, media/entertainment, non-profit and socially responsible business - achieve recruiting success. Living in San Jose makes it convenient for Rich to keep close tabs on Silicon Valley activity.

Jenn Bridge

Jenn recently joined Haas after spending thirteen years in the retail and consulting industries. In her last position, she was a recruiting manager for Booz Allen Hamilton, a global strategy consulting firm, and was responsible for all aspects of recruiting MBA candidates, including developing on-campus brand building strategies and marketing programs that supported their recruiting efforts. Prior to Booz Allen, Jenn spent eleven years at Gap Inc. where she held various positions in marketing and strategy for the Gap, Banana Republic and International divisions. Jenn holds a BA in technical writing and marketing from San Francisco State University.

Ainka Fulani

Ainka is a UC Berkeley alumna, from the College of Letters & Science. She holds an MBA from Wharton, where she majored in Entrepreneurship, Operations and Strategy with a focus on Global Business, and a Certificate in Human Resource Management from NYU. Most recently Ainka worked at The Gap where she was Manager of Operations, Recruiting & Staffing. She has held various manager roles in retail, telecommunications, non-profits and on Wall Street. Her experience includes work in recruiting, advising, diversity, training and development, merchandising, process improvement, project/change management, strategy and business development.

 

She is an INROADS Alumna from the NYC affiliate and the San Francisco Bay area alumni contact. For almost ten years Ainka has been an active member of NBMBAA and NSHMBA. She is a member of 85 Broads and NAFE and has been an active volunteer with The All Stars Project Inc., Girls Inc. and other organizations focused on the arts and youth development..

Cathy Garza

Cathy is the ACRE (Accelerating Careers in Real Estate) Program Coordinator working in Career Services in partnership with the Fisher Center for Real Estate and Urban Economics. Prior to joining Haas, Cathy was the career advisor for the Mills MBA program in Oakland. With a background in commercial banking, consulting, corporate finance, and marketing, Cathy is adept at identifying transferable skills for both career switchers and those targeting advancement in the real estate industry. Cathy is a Haas alumna and holds a BA in Economics from Stanford University. She is active in her community through PTA and can be found on a soccer or baseball field most weekends cheering on her kids.

Betsy Worth

A Bay Area native, Betsy is happy to be back after spending the last few years in Washington DC and New York. After interning at the Smithsonian’s American History Museum following college, she transitioned into a marketing role within the biotech industry and most recently worked in MBA recruiting at Booz Allen Hamilton in New York. In addition to managing on-campus recruiting logistics, Betsy develops Haas’ relationships with companies in the energy sector. She helps them build their brands on campus and facilitates their connections with students.

 

Betsy holds a BA in History from UCLA. Outside of Haas, she is active with the UCLA alumni association where she advises prospective students.

Jocelyn Newman

Jocelyn has been a primary contact for employers visiting the Haas School since 2000. She leads the “Optimizing CareerNet for Your Job Search” workshop, is the face behind the CSO Weekly newsletter and acts as the main technical support for CareerNet. She is a great resource for all on campus recruiting questions. Outside of Haas, Jocelyn does speech/accent coaching and vocal training for individuals. Jocelyn grew up in San Francisco and New York and studied music and vocal performance at UC Santa Barbara.

Pat DeMasters

Pat DeMasters joined the Haas School of Business in 2006 as Director of Career Services for the Evening & Weekend MBA Program, the Berkeley-Columbia Executive MBA Program and MBA alumni. Prior to Haas, she was the senior director for the North Bay practice of Spherion Human Capital Consulting where she focused on coaching and/or advising senior- and mid-level clients from financial services, biotech, consumer products and technology industries. She has 15 years experience in Human Capital Consulting which includes career transition/outplacement, career development, training, & program development serving clients in the Bay Area, US and abroad.

 

Pat has a Masters degree in Career Development from JFK University and an undergraduate degree in Organization Behavior from the University of San Francisco. Throughout her career, Pat has been very involved with organizations such as the Association of Career Professionals International (ACPI), Financial Women’s Association (FWA) and multiple human resources groups where she held office or participated on committees.

John Morel

John is a certified Executive Coach from the Hudson Institute. Prior to establishing the Haas MBA alumni and Berkeley-Columbia Executive MBA career services programs, he was a Senior Consultant with Lee Hecht Harrison providing career transition services for Fortune 100 companies in the finance, bioscience, telecommunications, public utility, and healthcare industries. He is a small business owner and has worked as a corporate recruiter and in the retained search field as an executive recruiter. He has held a variety of positions at the national director and management level in both the for-profit and not-for-profit sectors.

 

He has earned an MA in Career Development from John F. Kennedy University, Graduate School of Management and has a BS degree in Psychology and a minor in Business Administration from Humboldt State University. John is on the advisory board for the Association of Career Professionals International.

Jeanne has 15+ years in marketing and management consulting successfully introducing products and programs across the financial services, technology and consumer packaged goods sectors. Her professional career began in strategic, systems and litigation consulting with Price Waterhouse Management Consulting Services. Currently, she is a marketing and strategy consultant advising clients in strategic marketing and branding, and product development and implementation initiatives. Her educational background includes an MBA in Marketing from UCLA's Anderson School.

Christine Blaine

Born and raised in the Boston area, Christine has been a resident of Berkeley for the past 20 years. Before joining Haas, Christine worked in the retail, banking and specialty food industries with positions in sales, marketing, production and operations. She graduated from California State University in Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations.

Christine Blaine

Ursela is a recent Cal alumna who earned  her B.A. in Anthropology with a minor in Political Economy of Industrialized Societies (PEIS).  As a student-athlete at Cal she was a member of the 2004 Pac-10 Championship and 2005 NCAA Championship Women’s Crew Team, working in her spare time at the ASUC as a building manager and instructing private swim lessons for children. Prior to joining MBA Career Services at Haas Ursela worked as a Client Service Associate at Smith Barney, a division of Citi Global Wealth Management, and event supervisor and planner with the ASUC (post graduation).  She is the primary contact for Full-Time MBA Programs and assists in various CSO operational duties




Rebecca Ricksen

Rebecca earned her BA from Cal with a double major in Spanish and Comparative Literature. During college she worked for the University’s Disabled Students’ Program and the Lair of the Bear, a summer camp for Cal alumni near Yosemite National Park. Prior to joining the Career Center staff in 2006 Rebecca worked at the corporate office of Robert Half International within the Human Resources department. Rebecca volunteers with the California Alumni Association, is an English language tutor for the CALS project, and serves as the alumni advisor for her sorority.

Jeanne comes to us from John F. Kennedy University Career Center where she coordinated career events and developed metrics to track the quality and usage of programs. She also has an extensive background in volunteer work with Acalanes High School where she has been President of the Parents Club and editor of their weekly e-newsletter. Jeanne is a UCLA alumna with a BA in Economics. Having received her MBA in a part-time program, she is familiar with the specific needs and challenges of our students.
