Designs and manufactures upmarket women’s apparel and accessories for sale in Western markets while creating employment opportunities for women in Afghanistan and Pakistan. UC Berkeley

Grand Prize for Medium-Growth Business ($25,000)
The Maine Highlands Guild

Consolidates local artists, craftspeople, and producers of traditional products in a networking organization that promotes and sells member products. University of Maine

Grand Prize for High-Growth Business ($25,000)
Ferrate Solutions

Produces and distributes a new water treatment chemical, ferrate, which can potentially treat contaminated water two to four times more effectively at a much lower cost than current chemicals. Babson University

Outstanding Social Return on Investment Analysis ($5,000)
Developing Power

Implements hybrid renewable energy mini-grid systems and builds micro-enterprise capacity in rural villages of developing countries. University of Michigan
