Annual Women in Leadership Dinner Goes Global
“We had a great Women in Leadership dinner in Shanghai,” Sharon Yang, MBA 99, wrote after the event. “Our conversation mostly centered around tough business realities and challenges women (expat women in particular) face in China. All of us met someone we haven’t met before, and we all look forward to attending similar events in the future.” That sentiment was shared by the more than 300 Haas alumnae and friends who expanded the concept of the school’s annual Women in Leadership (WIL) dinner around the world on April 16. Inspired by the highly successful event in Berkeley, Haas Alumni Network chapter boards in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Tokyo, Chicago, Seattle, Los Angeles, New York City, and the South Bay organized their own WIL dinners to network and forge new friendships.
