Did You Know...What the Haas Alumni Network is up to?

Did you know
• that the Haas Alumni network is over 30,000 alumni strong?
• that Haas has at least one alum in all 50 states, as well as alums in over 70 countries worldwide?
• that over 8,000 alumni attended at least one Haas-sponsored event this past year?

As you can see, Alumni Relations at the Haas School is busier and better than ever, striving to reach our goal of connecting alumni to the school, to our students, and to each other. A few years back, we changed our name from the CalBusiness Association Haas to Alumni Network, to highlight the fact that the alumni of our school comprise a vital network of people. We also did away with the membership fee, which means that all alumni automatically are members of the network and able to take advantage of it.

We’d like to highlight two vehicles that keep our alumni connected: the web of Haas Alumni Chapters located around the world, and our online tools and services offered via the Haas@cal community.

Currently the Haas Alumni Network boasts over 45 chapters and regional representatives worldwide. The chapters are run by volunteers who plan activities and events that keep alumni engaged and connected. Naturally, our most thriving chapters are those located in the Bay Area, where the majority of our alumni live. The San Francisco, East Bay, and South Bay chapters hold frequent social, educational, and family-oriented events. Chapters across the US & worldwide also get together regularly to hear faculty speakers, hold informal and more intimate dinners, and rub elbows with alumni from other top business schools in regional business school consortiums. Where ever you are, we encourage you to get in touch with other Haas alumni and stay close to Haas.

Over the past year, our online network has really hit its stride. Via the Haas@cal community – part of the campus-wide @Cal program – we now offer a strong and diverse online alumni directory, regional and special interest based e-mail lists, and permanent e-mail forwarding options, in addition to Haas’ informative and up-to-date alumni website (http://www.haas.berkeley.edu/alumni). Students and alumni alike are flocking to the online community, both to network and get job leads and industry information from alumni from Haas and the entire Cal campus. We strongly encourage you to register yourself on the @Cal community and update your information and to start getting back in touch with classmates and friends. Please also consult the Haas web calendar, which lists school-based activities and events and highlights chapter events throughout the world.

We are delighted to welcome you – or welcome you back – as a member of the Haas Alumni Network and hope to see you soon.
