Former Yahoo! VP Consults at Haas


David Riemer, former vice president of marketing for Yahoo!, has been named a Haas School executive-in-residence by Dean Rich Lyons.

As an executive-in-residence, Riemer is serving as a consultant and coach for the Haas@Work program, is serving as guest speaker in Haas classes, and is mentoring students interested in his areas of expertise, including consumer technology, marketing, advertising, product development, and business planning.

Riemer also is working with the Haas School administration to explore creative new ways to strengthen and deliver on its commitment to develop leaders who can build environments where innovation flourishes.

“We are fortunate that someone with David Riemer’s great business experience and demonstrated talents in marketing has agreed to be a tremendous resource to us all,” says Dean Rich Lyons.

Riemer began his marketing career at J. Walter Thompson in 1985. He became president of JWT/West, where he helped the Sprint business earn three Effie Awards and a “Marketer of the Year” designation. Riemer entered the Internet industry in 1998 as senior VP of marketing for Quokka Sports, an Internet sports network. In 2001, he became chief marketing officer of The Feedroom Network, a leading streaming media network.

In various roles at Yahoo!, Riemer managed marketing for virtually all of the company’s products across their customer base of 500 million users. He most recently oversaw product marketing and go-to-market responsibilities for Yahoo!’s consumer products.
