Salary: This is an 80% Part-time position. The position is classified as a Student Affairs Officer II. The salary will be at 80% of the full-time rate of $40,764 up to $51,000 annually.

Job Description:
The incumbent works closely with the Executive Director and the Director of Admissions and Operations of the Haas Undergraduate Program on policy analysis and strategic issues, course scheduling and advises students and other constituents interested in the Program

Responsibilities:

POLICY ANALYST/STRATEGIC ISSUES :
Participate in policy discussions in all areas of the Program, evaluate and ensure consistency of policies and documentation, including:

Program: Manage undergraduate course scheduling and serve as a member of Undergraduate Staff Course Committee, meet monthly with the Haas Dean's Office staff regarding new courses and changes to existing courses, analyze demand for courses and future course offerings, maintain enrollment projections spreadsheet, update other documents as necessary. Compile reports each term (i.e., enrollment, waitlist, graduation, etc.) from different sources such as MVSC, BearFacts, and the degree checks. Coordinate non-credit workshops and other experiential learning program activities.
Faculty: Analyze low median teaching evaluations, act as liaison and coordinate grievance processes (i.e. student judicial affairs). Coordinate faculty academic advising. Communicate with faculty teaching new undergraduate courses to assist with scheduling as needed. Provide administrative support to Undergraduate Program Committee. Serve as liaison with Campus Career Center on the Faculty Career Advising Activities.
Student: Serve as a senior staff person, maintain knowledge of department business processes to serve as a resource and provide back up to other support staff, act as liaison during grievance processes. Identify and implement services that address student satisfaction (i.e. summer workshops, semester study breaks).
Other constituent issues: Serve as a liaison and resource to Haas, campus, and external constituencies.

ADVISING:

Using knowledge of department policies, services, resources, and personnel, as well as academic requirements and procedures, serve as a resource and provide information and advice to students and all other parties interested in the Haas Undergraduate Program. Forward non-routine inquiries to the appropriate resource. Maintain knowledge of Undergraduate Program processes in order to provide back-up to other support staff as needed.

ADMISSIONS:

Support Admissions Officer during application cycle. Double check applications, screen continuing Berkeley and transfer applications, serve as a back up for UG info inquiries and serve as a reader as needed.

MARKET RESEARCH & INFORMATION MANAGEMENT:

Serve as primary liaison between the Career Center and the Haas Undergraduate Program Office. Screen, obtain data, and refer incoming calls and requests regarding recruitment or other career related services to the appropriate contact (career center, student organizations, staff or faculty).
Manage external surveys, bench marking data and market research. Respond to business sector inquiries and other tasks as assigned. Coordinate flow of this information to appropriate campus and Haas constituencies.

OTHER/SPECIAL PROJECTS AS ASSIGNED:

Assist Haas Undergraduate Program Executive Director, Director of Admissions and Operations, and other Haas Undergraduate Program Staff with on-going issues and special projects, preparing reviews, reports, internal surveys, determining sources of information, analyzing data, evaluating options as appropriate and participate in human resource processes. Work as part of a team in areas that require coordinated effort and cooperation in work assignments.

Requirements & Qualifications:

Experience interacting with college students, staff, and faculty in college or university environments
Demonstrated ability to analyze complex situations and issues, understand and summarize them, and formulate an appropriate course of action in conjunction with appropriate constituencies
Demonstrated ability to clearly articulate policies and ensure consistency of documentation
Demonstrated commitment to outstanding customer service and professionalism
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and written and oral communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups in a busy environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
Demonstrated discretion and sensitivity dealing with urgent and/or confidential situations
Strong skills with Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel
Demonstrated ease with utilizing spreadsheets and large/complex databases to perform program analysis.
Demonstrated experience using E-mail and Internet
Two years of experience minimum in administrative analysis or operations research; or an equivalent combination of education and experience

PREFERRED SKILLS:

Advanced degree a plus
Ability to apply advanced level knowledge of employer relations and market research analysis
