Guidelines and Tips for Promotional Outdoor Banners at Haas

DESIGN & PRODUCTION
Vendor referrals are available through the Marketing & Communications office. Allow at least two weeks for design and production.
Requirements

Contains the official Haas school logo and/or mentions the “Haas School of Business,” “Haas School,” or “Berkeley-Haas.”

Contains one or more of the following: 1) date of event, 2) “Welcome to,” 3) “Announcing.”

Smallest font should be a readable size (at least 140 pt. for standard fonts). Fonts this small should only be used for the least important information.

For banners posted on Cronk Gate, the recommended size is 3 ft x 9 ft. Smaller banners cannot be secured properly. If you must choose a smaller size due to cost, we recommend keeping the height (3 ft.) and reducing the width to no less than 6 ft.

When printing banners, request at least 10 grommets (5 top, 5 bottom).

Any photos used must be owned by the Haas School or the originating department/club/etc.
Approval

Banners must be approved before they are printed and posted.

Please send an electronic file of the design to Michael Benson at least one week before the posting date.
POSTING
The recommended location for posting is Cronk Gate (either side). Special approval is needed for all other spaces. Banners may be posted up to one week before the event date.
Banner Space Reservation

Reservations are typically made on a first-come, first-served basis.

Send an email to benson@haas.berkeley.edu with the following information to reserve space:

desired posting location, date, and time

removal date & time
-
club/group/department affiliation
Hanging & Removal

Hanging and removal is to be done exclusively through the Marketing & Communications department.

Zip ties are provided for hanging.
