Student Advocate
My Responsibilities:
As Haas students you are part of a bigger family; that of the Berkeley campus and the University of California. But, the University's administrative procedures can be complicated. I am here to help you negotiate University processes such as: inviting speakers, posting activities on the online calendar, or any administrative or logistical issue you might have with the campus and its associated organizations.
My Goals:
I want to bridge the gap between students in all of the degree programs here at Haas.
The first step will be the creation of a school-wide student council, with student-selected representatives from each degree program. The school-wide student council will provide an active forum for inter-program communication, and a more powerful student voice when dealing with issues and concerns with the faculty and administration.
My Vision:
The University is a huge maze and it is easy to get lost in it. I envision this position as a way to quiet the noise in students' lives.
I learned long ago that the students are the customers and I work for them. If I did not have any customers, I would not have a job. It is as simple as that! I set out to do the best I can because I love happy customers. In everything I do. I put myself in the student's shoes. I try to see through a student's eyes.
I am here as the student voice, because it is the students who give the Haas community its personality, integrity and overall excellent reputation. Please feel free to drop in during my office hours or to make an appointment with me as your schedule allows. My hours of availability are subject to change should my proposed times not meet the needs of the students. I look forward to meeting and working with you all.
