Our recognition program rewards the excellence that exists in all units and job functions at Haas. There are four ways to formally recognize employees for their contributions and accomplishments: HEART, Spot, Achievement and Outstanding Staff awards.
If you simply want to recognize on-the-spot a colleague for putting the Defining Leadership Principles in action, grab one of the DPs cards and write a note of thanks. It's that easy!
These awards let employees know that someone has noticed their outstanding work. At the same time, it recognizes and reinforces the behaviors and values that are important at Haas. Nominees should meet the following criteria in their day-to-day work performance:
Represented Employees (other than in CX bargaining unit) in career, contract or limited term positions, may be nominated for the Haas HEART Award. The winners receive a non-monetary gift. Employees may be nominated by their supervisors, customers or colleagues.
Staff Appreciation and Recognition (STAR) awards allow the campus to acknowledge and reward exemplary performance and contributions by employees. UC Berkeley offers Achievement and Spot Awards under the UC STAR Plan.
Each year Dean Lyons recognizes staff who have exhibited individual performance that reinforces the values that are important to the Haas School of Business. The categories for the awards are the Defining Leadership Principles (Question the status quo, Confidence without attitude, Students always and Beyond yourself) as outlined in the School's Strategic Plan.
In addition, one award is given to a team whose performance reflects collaboration and inclusiveness.
Recipients are announced at the annual Staff Appreciation Lunch in April.
