Number to be activated in the system
Contact a CalNet Deputy to get a temporary password known as "token" and instructions about how to activate your CalNet ID.
Once you CalNet ID is activated, visit the Cal 1 Card Office to obtain your Cal 1 Card. You will need to bring along valid form of picture ID (Driver's License or California ID card, etc.).
Go to UCPD for your Background Check (appointment will be made in advance on your behalf). Your supervisor will give you the appropriate paperwork.
Set up your email and calendar on Bconnected. HelpDesk will help you set up your email, calendar, and will provide you access to shared drives. Your supervisor has already made an appointment with HelpDesk.
Employees are encouraged to report health and safety issues to their manager or the Safety Committee. Gerardo Campos, Facilities Manager, is the Chair of the Safety Committee. His office location is: S549 and his phone number is 2-4617.
Safety Tour: Safety tours are offered throughout the year but we encourage you to participate as soon as possible.
WarnMe/Nixle System: WarnMe/Nixle is UC Berkeley's alerting and warning service for students, staff, and faculty. It is activated to contact you when there is an immediate threat to safety or health affecting the campus community. WarnMe/Nixle can alert you by phone, text message, or emai- you choose the best ways to reach you. By default WarnMe will send a message to your Official Email address in the CalNet directory (typically your berkeley.edu address). To receive WarnMe emergency warnings via any other method, such as by text or phone, go to WarnMe site and indicate your preferences.
Complete Required Training
Make time to complete the mandatory trainings: Ethics Briefing, Sexual Harassment Prevention Training, and Cyber Security Awareness Training. You will receive an email from the campus Learning Center about each of these training.
Be sure to ask your supervisor about additional trainings you are required to take as part of your role.
Submit your timecard on due dates based on your role. Also, view vacation and sick leave accruals.
