WHAT: "Asia's Global Leadership: Catch It if You Can," the fifth annual Berkeley Asia Business Conference at the University of California, Berkeley's Haas School of Business. It will bring together business leaders, entrepreneurs, alumni, graduate students and international advocates to examine the growing role of Asia in the global economy.
WHEN: 9:20 a.m.-6 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 26
WHERE: UC Berkeley's Haas School of Business, on Gayley Road between Hearst Avenue and Bancroft Way on the east side of campus, across from Memorial Stadium
WHO: Wu-Fu Chen, chairman of Acorn Campus and one of the Top 100 Venture Investors in the United States, according to Forbes, will give the morning keynote at 9:30 a.m.
Allan Kwan, managing director of North Asia Operations, Yahoo! Inc., will give the afternoon keynote at 1:30 pm.
DETAILS: Both industry and regional experts will share their knowledge in panels covering biotech, wireless technologies, electronic gaming opportunities, venture capital investing and corporate social responsibility. Special panels will focus on the impact of the tsunami and rebuilding efforts and on the Lenovo-IBM acquisition. BizPark, an annual product exhibition, will feature hands-on demonstrations of cutting-edge technology, such as the latest Xbox and PS2 machine and games.
BACKGROUND: This Haas School conference is hosted by the Berkeley MBA students of the Asia Business Conference Club in collaboration with the Management of Technology Program, Clausen Center for International Business & Policy, and Lester Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation.
