Dean Tom Campbell Returns to Haas School of Business
Tom Campbell is resuming his duties as Bank of America Dean
of the Haas School of Business at the University of California,
Berkeley, today, November 21, 2005. Campbell went on a one-year
leave of absence from the Haas School in November 2004 after
being appointed Director of Finance of the State of California
by Governor Schwarzenegger.
Tom Campbell became dean of the Haas School in August 2002. Campbell is an economist
and lawyer who served five terms as a congressman representing the Silicon Valley
and also served as a California state senator. Prior to joining the Haas School,
he was a law professor at Stanford University for 19 years.
Professor Richard K. Lyons, who served as acting dean for the past year, will
take on the role of executive associate dean and will assist the school in several
important areas, including strategic planning, development, and planning for
the construction of new facilities.
