The CSR in the Tech Sector Fellows from the Haas School of Business MBA Class of 2007 are:
Jamie Dean
Jamie's
work prior to Haas focused on environmental and social issues
in the non-profit sector. She spent three years at the U.S.
Fair Trade Certification organization, TransFair USA, working
to ensure compliance with international Fair Trade standards
and working to improve the Fair Trade system. She spent the
summer 2006 working for the Packard Foundation researching
ways to use U.S. market incentives to encourage Mexican fishermen
to change their practices to more environmentally friendly
ones. Her CSR experience includes consulting work for Nokia.
She is currently the Co-President of the Haas chapter of Net
Impact, an international organization dedicated to socially
responsible business and nonprofit management. After graduating
from Haas, she plans to work on international sustainable
development with a focus on trade issues. She received her
undergraduate degree in Environmental Studies from U.C.L.A.
Mira Rubin
Mira's experience prior to Haas focused on the for-profit education
sector. She spent two years as a Center Director for SCORE!
Educational Centers in Oakton, Virginia, where she managed
the sales, operations, and tutoring services for over 200
members. She then spent three years at LeapFrog Enterprises,
Inc., working in sales operations and managing the account
for LeapFrog's second largest customer, Toys R Us. Mira has
focused much of her work at Haas in corporate social responsibility,
consulting with Cisco Systems, Inc. in her first year. She
then continued her work with Cisco as a Corporate Citizenship
Intern in the summer 2006, where she helped create their second
annual Corporate Citizenship Report. At Haas, she is currently
involved in Women in Leadership and Net Impact, as well as
being a graduate student instructor for an undergraduate business
course. Mira received her undergraduate degree in Political
Economy from U.C. Berkeley.
Juliana's work prior to Haas was in equity research at Thomas Weisel
Partners, where she covered the Hospitality sector. She also
worked as a program manager organizing logistics for Rotaplast
International, a nonprofit that sends volunteer medical teams
to provide free plastic surgery for children in third world
countries. Juliana's CSR experience includes consulting work
for Nokia and Wells Fargo, where she interned in the Environmental
Affairs department during the summer 2006. She currently serves
as a Haas Board Fellow and has been a lifelong volunteer with
charitable organizations including Habitat for Humanity and
Best Buddies. Juliana is a native of San Francisco and received
her bachelor's degree in Psychology and International Relations
from Stanford University.
