Jamie's work prior to Haas focused on environmental and social issues in the non-profit sector. She spent three years at the U.S. Fair Trade Certification organization, TransFair USA, working to ensure compliance with international Fair Trade standards and working to improve the Fair Trade system. She interacted with farmers from all over the world, including Latin America, Africa, and Asia and across a range of products, including coffee, cocoa, tea, and fresh fruit. This past summer, while working for the Packard Foundation’s Conservation & Science program, Jamie worked extensively with Mexican shrimp fishermen and U.S.-based seafood importers and distributors to encourage marine conservation in the Gulf of California. Her CSR experience includes consulting work for Nokia. After graduating from Haas, she plans to work on international sustainable development with a focus on trade issues. She received her undergraduate degree in Environmental Studies from U.C.L.A.
