Launched in 2003, the vision of the Center for Responsible Business is to create a more sustainable, ethical, and socially responsible society by establishing the Haas School of Business as the preeminent educational institution for research, teaching, experiential learning, and community outreach in areas of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

As a catalyst and innovator, the Center's mission is to create a new generation of business leaders who are knowledgeable about and committed to CSR. To accomplish this goal, we expose all of its constituents to the complex issues of a corporation's role and responsibility to society beyond simply maximizing shareholder value.

The Center serves as a bridge between academia and the corporate world. The research and teaching strengths of UC Berkeley, combined with the Center's experiential learning approach, connects CSR-focused knowledge and research to students, faculty, companies, and the community.
